Connect the dots...la la la

For the past three days, Madeline has not been sleeping well. She wakes up roughly 3-4 times a night and for the past two nights, we just bring her in bed with us for a couple of hours before returning her back to her crib. We have been thinking all of this was due to that pesky 7th tooth that still has not popped out.

Once again, Madeline wakes up at 6:30 a.m. and was brought to our room. As Will was getting ready, I quickly asked for him to come look at Madeline. Oh my! A rash!

Not your average, run-of-the-mill rash, but the queen of rashes. She was splotchy everywhere except her torso.
I quickly made an appointment for the morning while we waited. Madeline had two doctors (one for confirmation) and the diagnosis? Still questionable. I will have to say it was humorous because the first doctor mentioned bed bugs. I couldn't even say bed bugs because I was dumbfounded by this suggestion. Anyhow, the next step, an emergency referral to the dermatologist. We have to wait at least 72 hours ~ so much for an emergency. She was given Zyrtec and a steriod. Fast forward to later we start to battle a fever. After the doctor returned my phone call she started to say that this freakish rash is viral. Yay...not. Madeline's highest fever to date is 101.9 and this is on Tylenol and Advil. Sigh. To end our night, Madeline threw up three times and we were quite amazed how recognizable her items were. The last time she threw up, we were rushing her to the bath to rinse her off and she hurled on my arm (I was able to get the majority of it in the sink) and because there was some "stuff" on her hands she decided to flick it off where it hit the mirror. Yay for parenting!! Woo hoo! The good news is that her fever finally broke and were are hopeful for an uninterrupted night! Good night!
She's actually a wee bit active now that the fever is no longer!

Eye rub = Night time!

I have noticed after putting all my pictures up that most

of them have Madeline in pajamas. I will have to remedy
this for next post.

She loves white, pink, and puppies

After this incident, I have baby proofed her changing table. Ya, Madeline loves Desitin. Gross!
This is how we found her while we were cleaning up from dinner.
She loves her books!
She loves Dotty!
Madeline, occasionally, gets into the dresser, pulls out my clothes and drags them where she sees fit. Today, she decided to put my tank top on.

Hi

Madeline has increased her english vocabulary from two words to three. Her newly discovered word is, "Hi." It's super cute because she waves and says hi to the TV, check-out people at the grocery stores, and people passing by. Not only is is sweet, but exciting that people understand what she's saying. She helps me with disciplining Moose by pointing at him and saying what seems to be, "Don't," but sounds like doon. I digress. Will and I have begun to test our discipline methods. I keep praying to God that Madeline will respond to a stern voice so we don't have to move to other alternatives.

Background information...Madeline still only has 6 teeth. Will and I continually tell each other she's teething, yet there has not been an appearance of a 7th tooth to date. One morning, Madeline tried to climb up in my lap and took a chunk of skin from my leg. I chalked it up to...yup, teething.

Today, Madeline kept trying to bite my leg. When I would raise her chin with my fingers, put my face level to hers, I would sternly say, "No ma'am!" She would smile and say, "Hi." Will, not being much assistance, would turn his head and bust out laughing which of course, caused me to laugh and Madeline would join in laughing. We're doing well with this discipline thing so far, aren't we? When Madeline attempted to bite me a second, third, fourth time, I would vary my approach, "No ma'am", "No bite", "Madeline, no ma'am." Every single time Madeline would smile and say, "Hi!" Will would laugh, cause me to laugh, which in turn, would make Madeline laugh and the cycle would continue again. Sigh.

We'll get this discipline thing down one day, but for now? We're thankful for our beautiful daughter's laugh and new third word.

Good news, I do not have any bleeding nor scrapes! Phew.

Where did it go?

Many of you know, I am not a morning person. Very often you can hear me telling Will not to talk to me because it's so early in the morning. However, this morning was different. It was a normal routined morning, Madeline woke up, was brought to our room, and she took care of business. Because Will was already out of bed getting ready for work, he graciously went to change her. I'm battling, "Do I stay awake or try to get a few minutes of sleep?" What do I hear through the baby monitor? "CRAP!" I'm thinking to myself, yes this is obvious. Then what do I hear that puts a smile of my face at 6:30 a.m.? Will saying, "Case....I don't know where the poop went!" Good Morning!
