Christmas at the Obringers

Not only was this Will and my first Christmas, it was a very white Christmas! :) We had a great time decorating our tree with much needed help from Oscar, Mattie, and Moose. During the past couple of weeks, Will and I had a Merry Tacky Christmas party which included decorating cookies, hence Will’s picture of a black tongue. Also, Moose, Mattie, and Oscar decided that they would help out three days early opening three of our Christmas presents and watching the Sopranos. All of this occurred while Will and I were at work. However, Will was able to catch the criminals red-pawed. Moose continues to transition perfectly into our family keeping us all on our toes. He has managed to get stuck in the refrigerator (no longer then 2 minutes) as well as getting barricaded in the silverware drawer. We are still trying to figure this out.
Will and I were very blessed this Christmas and are already looking forward to our future Christmases with family. He and I will be attempting snow tubing today. Pictures to follow…

Birthday Weekend

I had a fantastic birthday weekend. It started Friday when Will had flowers delivered to work. Then we went out to dinner. He wanted me to bring and open my gifts during dinner. I received a much needed GPS and yes, a trip to Mexico. Whoo hoooo! We are going March 11th-19th!!! I wanted to include a link to the hotel we are staying at. Amazing! http://www.casacuitlateca.com/
We also went to Chena Hot Springs Resort. It was definitely touristy, but I am glad we went. The hot springs had a light scent of sulphur…yum! At the resort is an ice museum. It stays a constant 20 degrees throughout the year. It was small, but pretty cool (no pun intended). We had an ice appletini at the ice bar. You can get married as well as stay in one of the three rooms. No thank you!
While there we had a couple of ducks follow us and of course, more moose!
Will also wanted to do some cross country skiing. I opted for the 1 ½ mile (considering this was my 3rd time skiing ever and was lacking lessons), but we went with Will’s idea of the 3 ½ mile path. 2 hours later….Will predicted it would only take an hour. However, it was worth it when Will was the first one to fall. Hee hee!

Christmas!

Moose, Oscar, & Mattie

After we adopted Moose, he was very sick. We didn’t even know if he was going to make it or not. Now, completely healthy, his personality is now shining through. He loves to taunt Oscar mainly. Moose hides behind doors only to pop on Oscar as he is walking by. Mattie is definitely not left out. Moose loves getting on the high furniture and pulls a (what I like to call) “Spider Monkey” on Mattie. He leaps up, spreads all legs out, and lands right on top of her head. Moose also loves helping us around the house. As you already saw, Moose loves to paint. But in the following pictures you can see how he loves to do floral arrangements, decorating, and helping me unpack. Thanks, Moose!
I also had to include pictures of the brothers and sister actually liking each other and of course, Oscar in his Alaskan get-up!

Bay’s Trip & Thanksgiving

Bay first arrived Tuesday before Thanksgiving. After getting settled with time adjustments, Bailey was introduced into Will and my world. We first experienced cross country skiing. Of course, Bay and I had to document it taking thousands of pictures while Will grumbled in the background. However, if you notice below there is a great sequential three-picture moment when Will fell. Aww. Good times! I fell (not surprisingly). Will was generous and helped me up. Obviously, I didn’t keep my balance because I landed once again afterwards. Bailey was being a regular risk-taker and attempted a jump. Well, almost. It was funny to watch her turn around. Thanks to having cameras with us, WILL!
Thanksgiving was pretty exciting. Will did a fabulous job with the turkey. We had our friends; Marisa and Joe come to join the festivities. Overall, we just hung out and socialized. Will figured that since he cooked the turkey and mashed potatoes, that he was done. As he sat on the couch the remainder of the day/night while everyone else cleaned, played games, and chit chatted, I started plotting. I was waiting for a moment, the moment to arrive. Will got up and made himself (shocker) a piece of pie and asked about whip cream. Because he was directing the comment to me, I thought it was necessary to help him out with putting whip cream on the pie. I accidentally got it on him. Whoops!
Bailey and I took a stab at painting. Moose loves helping and choose to participate in our painting fun! Other things that we did while Bailey was here was played Bingo, shopped, and she was able to experience two moose sightings as well as seeing the aurora.
It was very sad to see her go, but she has promised to visit again!
