Catch Up

When you see the pictures, you will understand why it's been awhile since my last post. :) We are officially in Kansas and are adjusting. I cannot thank everyone to help in the transition. Wendi, graciously, flew out with me and the kids. Grant wasn't the ideal baby on the plane which warranted a lot of apologies from me to the people sitting in front and behind us (thankfully, they were very cool about it). Wendi not only flew with us, but stayed a week and help get us unpacked AND organized. The day she left, my cousin Lindsay and her husband came and a couple of days later, my parents arrived with my car. Lindsay and my parents stayed for a week and even my uncle flew up mid-week to do a few home improvements and help drive Lindsay back to Dallas (she's 7 1/2 months preggers). Everyone was incredibly instrumental in getting our home functional while juggling a baby, a little girl, and my husband who was already full-force back to work. I cannot thank you all enough. I love my family!

Madeline is definitely missing her friends and has mentioned several times this week that she wants to go back to Virginia. :( I am hoping that once school and her ballet starts, she'll adjust moreso.

Overall, Grant is doing fantastic. He isn't sleeping through the night as much as Will and I want him to, but that's part of being 4 months old. I have nicknamed him, "Mini-Will".

The summer continues as our niece, Aedin and nephew, Robbie are coming to visit for a little over a week starting August 8th. Then Grant's godparents, Jessie and Brian, come for a short visit August 17th.

The next post or so, I will include pictures of our house. We still need to really get the garage a little more functional - but both cars can park in the garage **thanks, Dad & Mom** and the office needs a little love as well. This should happen sooner than later. :)

Madeline and her BFF, Ginny.

Grant couldn't handle it! Just too much fun.
Yes, this picture is already framed and hanging in our house.

The first week in our new house, Madeline made her mark.
Madeline's awesome cat!

On the plane. Grant was one of those babies! Here he slept for approximately 15 minutes of our 2 1/2 hour flight.

Thank God, Wendi came to help!
Thank goodness the marker she used on the airplane tray was easy to wipe off. :/
She finally made it to the Dinosaur restaurant and made a Build-a-Dino
Wendi, Will, Grant, Madeline, and I went to Wonderscope. A pretty run down museum. We made the best of it.
Doesn't Will look thrilled?
I had to be the cow. Ha ha ha.
The Penationary in Leavenworth.
Cousin Lindsay and Travis came to visit and help.
Even Uncle Jay came! We are eating local BBQ. Not too bad.
While eating BBQ, Madeline adorned some with stickers.
Carnival time.
Madeline and I went up on the Ferris Wheel.
Frog Game - Fail!
Past her bedtime.
Roar!
My dad placating Grant. It worked!
Before leaving Virginia, Madeline had her Rapunzel hair done by our hair stylist.
She hated it.
Stop to yell...I mean smell the roses!
We were able to squeeze in one last fruit picking in Charlottesville before leaving.
M had more fun stepping on the cherries than picking them.
Shake that booty!

M was mesmerized by this.

She is thoroughly clean.

She melts my heart
4 months and time for food experimenting.
Here's a live version of Grant and eating for the first time:  http://youtu.be/ls0aoPcSYG4
M decided she wants to be a skeleton for Halloween so she practiced with painting her own bones.

Already flipping back and forth. My lil' buddy.

Where's Madeline?
Unpacking fun. She has outside chalk on her face (she wanted to be a cat).
Grant loves blowing raspberries.
Shopping is hard!
There are some challenging days when I'm rocking Grant to sleep and M wants to join in. You can see her sashaying her little self while I'm in the glider with Grant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0_T6jMA0o4
Somehow he manages to fall asleep.
Moose loves to just hang out!

Hear ye! Hear ye!

It's been over a month since my last post. We are still getting used to our newest addition. There have been moments where Will and I have questioned if Grant has colic. I don't know if we'll ever know, but I do know that as time progresses his fussiness lessens. Thank goodness! We are rocking the 2nd baby thing and have him in his pack-n-play for most of the night. He sleeps (during the night) between 4-5 hour chunks which is awesome! He recently had his two month check up and his weight is 60%tile, height 50%tile, and his noggin' is 85%tile. Grant is smiling up a storm especially to me and Madeline. It truly melts your heart. Also, it looks like our lil' man will have blue eyes. It just amazes Will and I to no end.

Madeline continues to do well as a big sister. She is very sweet with Grant and still does not complain one bit when he is screaming his head off. Madeline is excited about going to Kansas and wants everyone to come and visit. I hope she is as motivated when we actually get there.

After many discussions with Will, we have decided that Grant, Madeline, and I will be flying out to Kansas July 12th and my parents have graciously agreed to drive my car out a week later. This relieves a lot of stress!

In two short weeks, the packers and movers will be coming and all of our household goods will be on their way to Kansas June 16th.

Elsa.
Madeline drew this and said that the circles were Mommy's tummy and Grant is in the middle.
"No no no pictures, Mommy"
And this is why she's so skinny.
Finally after the butterflies emerged it was time to let them go.
The Pull-Up Fairy came and Madeline has successfully transitioned into wearing panties at night. She singing a song she made up in this pic.
We were at Pippin Hill Winery. Absolutely beautiful.
Uncle Brian made a surprise visit! Yay!
